Implants... gotta love em!

In January, I'm having some dental work done by my periodontist, Dr. Hovey. He's a great guy, I suppose. I'm receiving TWO tooth implants and some MORE grafting. I know how exciting this may seem, but to say the least, I am NOT amused.
Earlier this year, I went in TWO different times to do some skin grafts. This was in preparation for my tooth implants. I had several receding gum lines, which needed to be fixed. This resulted in MAJOR bruising, pain and discomfort. The discomfort, mainly, from the total disinterest in having the procedure done AT ALL. So, here's a lovely diagram of a tooth implant and what will be placed in my mouth - TWICE:

Now, this should have all been accomplished years ago, in 1996, when I graduated high school. However, I didn't see the importance of it and never realized it WOULD have to be done someday. And, not thinking rationally, it could have all been done on my parents dime. I know that sounds horrible. BUT, when you receive information, like I did today, you would realize why I would state that.

Just so you know, this is NOT a cheap procedure. Just a side note, I have to say, I definitely have some of the best insurance coverage out there. I pay $0 per month and receive exceptional coverage. I work for a dang good company. Anyhow, it'll cover 50% of my implants, but I only receive $1500 per year for any dental work.

My issue, is figuring out how I want to pay for this. Credit Cards...not a chance. I don't have one and am NEVER using one again. Although, they do have a low interest Credit Care card. This is for people needing medical procedures and can't pay out of pocket. Then, at work, we also have the option of a Medical Reimbursement. So, I can elect to take out up to $5000.00 per year. And they'll deduct a portion from my paycheck each month. This is probably my best bet. But, again not something I'm looking forward to.

I know this all sounds very pessimistic and I appologize, but man, I can't help it. Debt is the vain of my existance, I try every means to pay it off; although, somehow, it slowly seems to get bigger and bigger. My next post will be about something a lot more HAPPY.
